Here, Columbia River is rather wide so that water is smooth; walking in the shallow water as the gentle wind kisses your face, it is delightful to cool off during the summer hot day.

At the east end of the park is the Sand Island where you will see some sand dunes as high as 40 feet. I saw a few osprey nests where adult birds were busy feeding their babies.
